Computer Science: Create Your Own Image Filter

Computer Science Image Processing Winter@AUC Course

In this bootcamp, you will learn the fundamentals of image and video processing algorithms and where you can apply them in tackling real-life problems. Image processing is incorporated into our everyday lives, and we take it for granted. Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and Facebook are a few of the many platforms that normalized the use of image and video processing, and they’re so simple to use that a 4-year-old can utilize them. In this bootcamp, you will learn the basic principles of image and video processing algorithms. You will also learn how to utilize the simplified programming language Processing, which is optimal for visual arts. The bootcamp will also equip you with the knowledge you need to creatively build on and design your own effects.

Sessions will run daily from 9 am to 3 pm.  

Students ages 14+ who demonstrate the following skills are eligible to enroll:

  • Learn the fundamentals of image and video processing.
  • Learn how to apply effects and filters to images.
  • Understand the science behind the technology to create your own effects.
  • Gain basic experience in processing.

The AUC bus service is available for extra fees. Details on the schedule will be shared before the program’s start date.

Karim Morcos

Karim Morcos is an entrepreneur with experience in various fields, including technology, the arts, education and the service industry.
